Focus: Student academic success is a goal of any academic institution, but there are often barriers to student success at the level of the student, classroom, instructor, and institution. This edition is dedicated to enhancing student academic success, in terms of learning outcomes, student motivation, student retention, and student engagement. Manuscript submissions are encouraged on increasing student motivation to learn in the academic institution, increasing student engagement, student retention, and improving overall student learning outcomes. Learning outcomes may be at the level of individual students, classrooms, or at the institutional level. Submissions are welcome from quantitative research, qualitative research, action research, and other methodologies appropriate to the study of student success. In addition to empirical work, manuscript submissions are also encouraged of a theoretical nature, including motivational theory as applied to student success, engagement, and retention, as well as critical theory work on these issues. Who May Submit: Submissions are welcome from educators at any level, including teaching assistants and teaching associates, administrators, K-12 teachers, and college faculty, as well as researchers, graduate students co-authoring with a professor, and others working with students.
