ABSTRACT
As the twenty-first century continues to unfold, admitting international students
has become a priority at universities throughout the United States. International
admissions personnel were surveyed at 51 public and private institutions to
determine college choice factors that influence international enrollment. A
quantitative study found that their university’s academic reputation, location,
and cost are considered important factors. However, the most central reason
toward attracting international students was the influence of family and the
personal attention given by the university department.
