Reality TV Shows and Problem-Based Learning

ABSTRACT  
In order to modify a traditional approach to problem-based learning (PBL)
and meet her students’ interests, the author turns to a popular reality 
television show for ideas. In the following paper, the author describes 
a PBL format based on Bravo’s show Project Runway, as well as how this 
approach avoids some of the limitations associated with traditional PBL 
strategies.
