Distance Learning: College Students’ Perspectives
Rochelle Matthews-Somerville, Bowie State University, MD
This study examined relationships between student characteristics
and perceptions of distance learning. One hundred thirty-one university
education majors from 5 classes participated in this study. A self-report
measure of factors that contribute to the successful implementation of
online courses was administered. Analyses revealed that individual student
characteristics were significantly related to perceptions of distance
learning. The implications of differences in perceptions based on
characteristics and classroom performance are discussed.
