Focus:
This issue seeks submissions that discuss both the theoretical and practical approaches to critical literacy with English language learners (ELLs) at all levels of education, particularly in English-as-a-second-language (ESL) and English-as-a-foreign-language (EFL) classrooms. Of particular interest are papers that aim to bridge the theory and practice of critical literacy, that is, classroom implementations of critical literacy based on clear theoretical orientations. Also welcome are discussions that extend upon the theories of critical literacy. Submissions should focus on the discussion of critical literacy in language classrooms, not in content-area courses.

Who May Submit:
Submissions are welcome from teachers, researchers, teacher educators and theorists reflecting diverse theoretical and methodological frameworks. Please identify your submission with keyword: LITERACY-1

Submission deadline:
Any time until the end of February 15th, 2012.
