Focus:
This issue seeks to contribute to the understanding and the process of second language acquisition and pedagogy of East Asian languages and learners (Chinese, Japanese, and Korea). It will compile useful knowledge and pedagogy on a theoretical basis. Both quantitative and qualitative studies are welcome. More specific topics encompass, but are not limited to:
  1. Teaching methods and approaches (e.g., content-based instruction, grammar-based instruction, teaching pronunciation, task-based instruction, and form-focused instruction)
  2. Learner variables (e.g., motivation, belief, personality, and learning style)
  3. Vocabulary acquisition
  4. Language and culture or sociolinguistics
  5. Phonetic/phonological acquisition
  6. Interlanguage or learner language analysis (e.g., private speech, and analysis on conversation)
  7. Sociocognitive acquisition (e.g., peer learning)
  8. Teacher talk and corrective feedback
  9. Teaching literature and culture using the target language
Who May Submit:
Submissions are welcome from teachers, researchers, administrators, and teacher educators at all levels.
