Focus: There are national initiatives to increase the diversities of the workforce in field of sciences (including engineering and math), by providing funding and support to attract and retain minorities. Specifically, research and practice related to underrepresented groups of learners in scientific disciplines can inform K-12 and university practitioners about how to create instructional strategies with appropriate learning technologies. This issue is seeking articles that examine the use of learning technologies in these fields with a focus on student use of technologies as opposed to instructor use.
